on 2010-09-05Item arrived ahead of promised delivery time, and was in excellent condition. What could be simpler? Took it out of it's provided carrying case, and put it in the car. It's that simple. Minor adjustments to make it fit better from one car to another are done easily. There is no foul smell associated with cheaper similar products, and the materials used were of superior quality. The provided water bottle was a hi with our little Daisy Mae, as she is a heavy drinker. Our pet seems much happier and secure riding in this, and we are happy she cannot now scratch the leather. The sling cleans easily with a wife of a wet or dry cloth, depending on what needs cleaning. We would buy this again, and have recommended it to others.

on 2010-08-15We just put this to use for the first time this weekend. The material pulled loose from where it was stitched at one place. The rubber backing has a spot where it is already coming off. I think it's great for smaller dogs, not so good for the big boys. I would have gladly paid more for a better made product. I still think for the price it is the best out there. Amazon did a great job as always in getting it to us.

on 2010-08-08I've been through many walmart/canadian tire, cheap seat covers. They all ripped or broke. When we got these in stock at my store I had to buy one I could tell they were really durable. I've had it about a year now and it's great. Protects my car from scratches mud and dog hair. My only complaint is that the velcro area where you clip in a seat belt does not shut properly if you do attach your dog (WHICH YOU SHOULD! for his safety and yours) and so the dirt kind of falls through around that area. But this is minimal and I just keep a towel between and/or vacuum every week or so.

on 2010-06-30I have had this seat cover for about 6 months. I was very excited about it when I first installed it because of its stiff material and velcro sections to accommodate seatbelts, not to mention the waterproof qualities. However, within a few weeks, the velcro sections that accommodate the shoulder seat belts started to come open and wouldn't stay closed. And guess what, dog hair and dirt started to accumulate in these areas. Then, about a month ago, I decided to wash it. I dried it and when I took it out, I noticed that the underside material had worn away so much so that when I held it up to the sun, I could see the sun shining through. I tried to reinstall, thinking it just wouldn't be as waterproof as it used to be, but it had also shrunk and the grommets that line up with the rear seat headrest posts no longer lined up, making it near impossible to secure the cover to the backseat headrests. Also, when used as a hammock after the wash, it wasn't slack against the backseat, making it more difficult for my dog to feel secure. Then, just in the last few weeks, I noticed the big velco section for the seat belt buckles has ripped (that velcro stayed closed but it ripped from the place where it was sewn to the cover). Ugh Ugh Ugh. I had such hopes for this cover and am so disappointed. I wish I had never washed it. I wouldn't buy this again. The design is great, but the workmanship and durability is not sufficient. A car seat cover should last more than 6 months, especially at this price point. Of note, I have a 70 lb lab who is a great traveller and just snoozes in the backseat on car rides, so there was not any unusual wear and tear. Buyer beware.

on 2010-05-08This is truly a mediocre product, at best, and for the price not something I would recommend.
The material is simply average (and below average for this price point) and wears way too easily. I have two small/medium sized dogs that just jump in the car and go to sleep and thus put very little wear on this type of product. However I was already replacing this Kurgo Hammock in less than a year. The design is ok accept that to attach or detach the accompanying carrybag you have to dismantle one side on the hammock to just get it on and off. They could have made this much easier by adding a couple of clips to the bag - but I suspect this was just another area that the manufacturer wanted to "cut corners". The real joke of this product is the silly little straps (read: strings) that are provided to secure the hammock to the seat. They simply do not serve that purpose and so this hammock is moving around all the time and not protecting all of the seat. There are a couple of velcro strips that are seat belt openings and the velcro on these lasted less than 3 months and then would not close again. So once again dirt is falling onto the seat below through these openings. It is very, very difficult to clean and frankly never cleans up completely. When I called the company they had no ideas or suggestions on how to clean it. Put another way all materials in this product are very poor quality (at this price) and all sorts of shortcuts have been taken in the manufacture of it.
Summary - designed initially looked good but quality of workmanship and materials don't live up to advertising or price. It's a waste of money.
